About Diego
Artist Statement
"I create pieces that invite viewers to explore the interplay between reality and imagination. Whether through original paintings, prints, or digital works, my goal is to evoke emotion, inspire reflection, and craft timeless art that enrich any collection".
As a lifelong admirer of art, Diego is continually inspired by the innovative minds and diverse perspectives of both historical and contemporary artists. His passion for art, design, and travel fuels his curiosity and keeps him attuned to the latest trends and movements. He is captivated by the human mind's ability to generate ideas and the inherent beauty of our imperfect creations.
Having immigrated to the United States from Colombia in 1999 due to violence, personal threats, and the challenges faced as an LGBTQIA+ individual, Diego has overcome significant obstacles to become a naturalized citizen. This accomplishment is a source of great pride and gratitude, as it has shaped his personal growth and artistic evolution. His cultural background provides a unique lens through which he views art and allows him to approach the journey of others with empathy and respect.
Diego has always had an affinity for the creative process. He is also a seasoned user experience and visual designer, with extensive experience creating digital products for clients across a variety of industries. "I really enjoy drawing from inspiration and turning ideas into something tangible, useful, and pleasing to the eye, whether digitally or by hand. However, I find that creating art by hand is a more direct path between my mind and the physical world."
Diego’s work has been exhibited in numerous locations and galleries in North Carolina, on billboards throughout Charlotte and currently in prominent digital displays in Times Square, New York City in 2025, as well as the Mint Museum in Charlotte. He has done interviews with local networks about his artistic journey and is an active advocate for the arts in his city.

"Orange Room" is a cheerful and inviting interior bathed in warm oranges and yellows, accented by complementary blues.
The composition is carefully arranged to guide the viewer's eye through the space, from the cozy seating area to the open doorway and beyond. Details such as the patterned lampshade, the vases filled with stylized flowers, and even the whimsical blue cat figure in the corner contribute to the room's unique character and charm.
"Blue Room" offers a tranquil and dreamlike escape into a monochromatic blue interior, where a profusion of floral motifs—from wallpaper to bouquets and framed art—creates a lush and serene atmosphere, as if nature has softly entered the space.
The composition is richly layered, with furniture, plants, and decorative elements all contributing to the overall sense of a fully inhabited, yet peaceful, environment.
"Green Room" envelops the viewer in a vibrant, dreamlike world dominated by a symphony of green hues, from deep emerald and patterned wallpaper to translucent light filtering through a window. Despite its density, the composition maintains balance, inviting lingering exploration of intricate details and textures.
